Timothy S. Blanco, CPCU, CIC


Tim was born and raised in Savannah. He graduated from Benedictine Military School in 1995, and the University of Georgia in 1999. He has earned the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) professional designations.

He began his insurance career as an underwriter for the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies in 1999 where he worked exclusively with large brokers on multinational and technology accounts.

In 2003, Tim joined the former Palmer & Cay in Atlanta as an International Specialist. He executed the non-domestic programs for accounts throughout the Palmer & Cay system. In January 2008, Tim joined Thomas J. Sheehan Insurance, Inc. Upon the death of the agency founder and Tim’s uncle, Tommy Sheehan, Tim became an equal partner in the business. Tim also serves as the International Advisor for Ironwood Insurance Services, Inc in Atlanta. In that role he manages non-domestic exposures and regulation compliance for multi-national property and casualty clients and serves as a liaison to the Worldwide Broker Network.

Tim’s community involvement includes a very strong passion for emergency services. He serves as the chair of the board of directors of Chatham Emergency Services, a private not-for-profit organization that provides fire and emergency medical services to Chatham County. He has served as president and director on the boards of the Benedictine Military School Alumni Association and Savannah Speech and Hearing. He has chaired the Benedictine Military School Annual Campaign and sits as a Trustee on the Chatham Foundation. Tim was initiated in the April 2016 class of Gridiron Secret Society. He is also a member of the Savannah Quarterback Club.

Tim is married to Alisa and they have two sons, Finn and Everett. The family is active at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Tim serves as one of the partners on the “Medical Offices” segment of Chatham Insurance Partners.  In that role he helps develop industry leading programs and services to support dental practices, veterinarians, funeral homes, home health care and hospice systems. He is also involved in coastal property and flood insurance placements.
